I have a close friend from India (the northern part) and have always noticed his smell. He is a business owner and always appears well kept and dressed. The problem is that I have noticed other people making faces and doing gestures when he is not looking. I mentioned it to him one day and kind of joked about him not wearing deodorant one day. I am a good friend to him and really want to just come right out and tell him but I really do not want to hurt his feelings, either.
