First of all, Vanessa Williams parents are ‘both’ black (read up on it). Secondly, White americans (from slavery times)insisted that anyone mixed with a ‘spec’ of black were considered black (in which now white americans are trying to get them to say ‘Other’) in which the tradition continued until recently. In essence whites have always denied a person being white and insisted they were black no matter how far back that black person was in ones ancestral tree. Thank You.
