So, your boyfriend left you for a black woman, huh? I happen to have a vast amount of knowledge about black history, and I know that we haven’t had anything ‘handed’ to us. Anything we get in this country, we fight for. It is like pulling teeth to get any justice. Most of the reason for this is because of your fellow government employees, particularly the ones who are there because they were voted in. They are afraid that if they give us the justice we deserve, white people won’t vote for them and they will lose their cushy jobs that they really didn’t earn in the general sense of the word. As far as laziness goes, are all those black people who get up early in the morning to work in the Ford and GM plants up in your neck of the woods, despite the fact that the management could do the same thing that the CEO of GM did in Flint (close the plant and take their jobs away), lazy? What about Berry Gordy, founded a record company up there because black recording artists were getting screwed by white record companies? Was he lazy? What about your Congressman, John Conyers? He works tirelessly to try get his fellow colleagues to pass laws to make this a more equal society for blacks, despite the fact that he is old enough to retire. Is he lazy? Perhaps you are jealous because there are so many black men and women of accomplishment in Detroit and the best you could do is get into civil service.
