I am a African-American Woman and I do not like the use of Ebonics either. I speak slang amongst my friends just like anyone else, but it is just that slang. Proper English is waht gets you interviews, good jobs, etc. There is nothing wrong with speaking slang, but there is a time and a place for everything, and slang does not belong in schools. Anyone, please tell me one positive aspect that Ebonics will have on our children?
