All ‘poor people’ are not stupid. Most would not make the type of broad judgment call you just did. Stating that ‘they can’t afford birth control’ is baloney because anyone who has ever needed government assistance knows about the many free or low-cost health and dental benefits available to them. At the local courthouse here, they give away free birth control pills, condoms, and I think Depo Provera shots in addition to immunizations and well baby care, including free formula and food for families with small kids. Before you write some one off as having no common sense, you better check yourself first.
