while it’s laudible that you chose to take the high-road to clarify yourself, it was whasted breath. julie is only interested in clarifying that you are white and therefore prejudiced and have no right or responsibility to comment or question other races and that you should shut up and go back to flogging yourself for crimes that your ancestors may or may not have been involved in a couple centuries back. the answer to your question is that during the 70’s, you had a lot of ghetto trash trying to ape the afro-centrissim of more privledged blacks who named thier kids with pseudo african sounding names like shaquille and tonisha. this started a long line of naming your kids anything stupid as long as it meant they wouldn’t be confused for a white on the police blotter; latoya, daytona, on up to the present day when you have entire families named after expensive liqors. this experiment is a failure: whites reach out repeatedly, but the blacks here are just as defensive and self-rightious and hold as much bad blood as in the real world.
