As a military spouse, I lived in South Korea for a year. Unfortunately, there are some ‘bad seed’ Americans who ruin things for the rest of us. Some Americans (not all, of course) are rude, loud, obnoxious, and like to take advantage of others. I think some of the Koreans have learned this and have tried to protect themselves by not allowing Americans to pay monthly for cellular phone service and not letting foreigners use other services.
