Any form of the ‘N’ word coming from a white person is offensive. If you say it to a cow, it is still offensive… it doesn’t matter who you say it to. I work with muti-cultural programing at my school and hear questions about this word alot– Why can’t I say it, why do ‘they’ say it, etc. I think what matters is that this single word coming from the mouth of a white person can start riots, was and is used to oppress and dehumanize and hurts people in a way that I will never understand. So WHY then should white people use it? There are plenty of words to address people, and I don’t think not using the word will have any negative impact on your life or is really worth ‘fighting’ for.
