I’m also a middle-age Jewish woman. I’m not sure oppression is the key factor here. I think education is the key. Throughout the ages, Jews have placed a great deal of emphasis on literacy and education. Most astonishing is that this has always applied to females. Education leads to higher paying jobs and greater success. The American Blacks who have succeeded notably (outside of athletics, rap music and show business) have one thing in common – a good education. This includes Condoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, and Barak Obama. First and second generation Asians in America seem to succeed well out of proportion to their numbers. Education is also stressed in their cultures. However, many Asian immigrants have succeeded here in businesses (restaurants, service & professio
