true enough. Human beings DO seem to have dispersed from the African continent. Then they began to devolop what we now consider 'racial characteristics' in response to their new (and diverse) environments. These ancient adaptations are what most people use to define race, thus a person with light skin can be assumed to come from the population of humans that dispersed to Europe and the north. Those with epicanthic folds and yellowish skin have forefathers who went east from Africa, etc etc etc. It is undeniable that Kandice's negroid heritage comes from the African population just as her caucasoid traits come from the European group. Her classmates can see that even if she denies it.
