In the previous responce -“After slavery when traditionally rural southern blacks started moving north it was to take manufacturing jobs that were then located within major cities; auto plants in Detroit” I thought “white flight” took place in the 1960’s in detroit during the riots ….the end of slavery was when president lincoln signed the “Emancipation proclamation” ….(I know that did not end discrimination, just slavery).
