there is the saying in african american culture that white american’s hair, when it is wetted, smells bad. i can only address my personal experience & say that i’ve always had long hair, & only SINCE i’ve lived with my dog that my hair DOES sometimes smell like a dog when i’ve come out of the rain! around detroit, i can also say that more whites than blacks tend to let their dogs live with them inside the house. possibly this is how this came about.
