Interracial dating is still a taboo subject. I mean, South Carolina just repealed a law a couple years ago saying blacks and whites couldn’t marry. The law hadn’t been enforced for decades, but the bickering between the Senate and House members showed that someone still believed that my husband and I don’t belong together. I believe some day people who think my family is unusual will go away and we will be the ‘nice couple down the street’ instead of ‘you know, the black guy with the blond wife.’ It seems you are dealing with some close-minded people in your life. Expand your horizons and meet some new people. There are plenty of folks who believe that variety is the spice of life.
