I have heard that said among Black people as well. Whites do not realize it, but the odor of their hair is similar to a dogs fur when it gets wet. The reason behind this (I have been told) is that white hair has a softer and more porous texture (just like a dogs fur) than Asian or Black hair. The texture absorbs odor and dirt more than Black hair, and the scalp creates more oil and sebum than black hair. That is why whites have to wash their hair everyday (or every other day), and blacks do not. No, the smell does not linger…noone is impling white people stink all the time, only that white hair does have an odor when wet.
