Exactly what facets of life do blacks have more opportunities in than whites? Whites are paid more for the same work, their loan approval rates with similar credit histories are much higher than for blacks, and even in the field of health care, white students with equal academic credentials are admitted to schools at higher rates than blacks, even when taking Affirmative Action into account. Not to mention the years of networking connections that white families have been able to establish by virtue of their whiteness.

And no, black people don’t ‘like being told what to do’ by whites. Do you like being told what to do? Perhaps next time if you made a polite request and asked for something instead of telling someone to do it, they would listen to you. I find it interesting that you have spent years trying to figure black people out. I’ve spent years wondering why whites think blacks don’t deserve common courtesy and why they think blacks are unaware when they are being treated rudely or disparaged.

As for tipping, some black people are poor tippers, but have you considered the possibility that people don’t tip because they were displeased with the service they received? I also wonder why it is that when white kids are being loud, they are ‘boisterous,’ but when black kids are loud, they are ‘noisy and disruptive.’ People who would be inclined to honor a polite request are also easily put aback when the request is made in an impolite or commanding way. Think about that.
